The Iranian Urological Association (IUA) was initially founded in 1959 by a number of prominent urology professors and then in 1994 by incorporating two associations named “urology” and “kidney surgeons”, the IUA has launched into a new epoch. During all these years the board of IUA directors has convened several meetings regularly concerning specific goals to be achieved and specific strategies to be pursued. Extending the scope of activities constantly, The IUA has tried to provide maximum qualified services for both the association members and the society.
Presently, the activities of the IUA are going on in a frame of 12 provincial branches, 6 subspecialty societies and 7 expertise committees with widespread international communications.
